2012 Scholarship Application

General Information:

The 200 Club of Somerset County is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2012 - 2013 academic year.  Applications must be received no later than March 19, 2012 to be considered. 

Scholarships at a maximum amount of $2500.00 each will be available for the fall 2012 semester.

Applicants will be judged on the basis of S.A.T. scores, class standing, citizenship and family financial need.  The screening committee will review and approve applications impartially by code number only, with no knowledge of the applicant's name, address or school attended.

Announcement of the awards will be made sometime in May 2012.  At present, financial aid is limited to the applicant's first year beyond high school.

Only fully completed applications will be considered by the selection committee for awards.

Eligibility:

Applicants will be limited to high school seniors who are themseleves or have a parent living in and actively serving Somerset County in one of the following public safety branches:*

• Police and Law Enforcement
• Fire Department (includes volunteer fire fighters)
• Volunteer Ambulance Corps / First Aid Squad
• State Police **

* Eligibility is limited to public safety personnel engaged in the branches reflected above only.  Personnel working in clerical or other non-related public safety duties and children of members of the 200 Club of Somerset County are not eligible.

** To qualify for eligibility a State Trooper may either live or be based in Somerset County.
